
Whether it’s running of the bulls festival or the tomato festival, Spain always has something or other to be in limelight. Now it has what it claims to be the World’s biggest salad. With 6,700 kilograms (14,740 pounds) of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers and olives as ingredients 20 Spanish cook prepared the salad in about three hours.
The salad was prepared in a container 18m (59ft) long and 4.8m (15.7ft) wide. Pulpi town in Almeria province, one of Spain’s main fruit and vegetable growing areas is the place where the salad was prepared.
Applauding the record attempt, Lorenzo Navarro, the head of the Association of Businessmen and Storekeepers of Pulpi said:
Excellent coordination since the beginning made it possible to meet this challenge.
The salad will be distributed to restaurants in Pulpi to provide free to their clients. I wonder what will be the next move of Spanish people!
