Tourism is much more environmentally friendly than the traditional mass tourism and it can play an important role in the economies of countries and regions involved in the project. These regions are: the Province of Cagliari in Sardinia, the county of Hunedoara in Romania, Cap Bon in Tunisia and the Krasnodar region in the district of Temryuk in the Russian Federation.

These regions, which have remained for a long time under the Roman Empire, share a historical past and cultural heritage. The project will develop a joint strategy and action plans for the development of each region and the creation of tools and promotional materials to promote their common heritage.
Two major empires were formed during Antiquity: the Greek Empire, and later the Roman Empire. Both of these empires gave Europe art and philosophy and can be attributed to the rich culture and heritage we have today. Julius Caesar’s conquests are still well-known today: how he subjugated Egypt by conquering the beautiful Cleopatra, how he conquered Gaul after defeating the Gaulish chief Vercingetorix. The Roman Empire was eventually swept away by the Byzantine Empire.
The Great Schism between Catholicism and Orthodoxy took place. The power of Muslims started to grow in that period. The Crusades followed one after another. But the Eastern Empire was
dismembered by the Ottoman Empire.
Europe means also many summer festivals, winter fairs, flea markets and other markets throughout the year. Do not hesitate to taste Christmas delights in all the Christmas markets of Europe and admire the illuminations that make us fall back into childhood. The nature lovers will appreciate breathing the air in large open spaces of Ireland or visit the famous fjords of Norway. Lovers of architecture will surely raise their eyes and step to major landmarks like the Eiffel Tower in France, the Sagrada Familia in Spain and many others. Young people may prefer theme parks such as Disneyland in Paris, the Polar Zoo in Norway, the Movie Park in Germany or the home of Father Christmas in Finland.
