Celebrating your next summer vacations in Spain may be a good idea as stiff competition among hospitality industry has forced a massive decline in the price tags up to 14%. A price study conducted on 30 resorts in regions like Ibiza and the Costa del Sol reveals that holiday cost is £250 less than the last year for around four family members. While some traveling agencies fear that rising debt and increasing interest rates, causing a great fall in holidaymakers.
Sean Tipton, from the Association of British Travel Agents is quoted as saying:
There are always lower prices around at this time of year and at the moment there are some pretty hefty discounts. The only way to guarantee a great deal is to book early.
In fact, across all the major destinations, as compared to the same period previous year, the price had sharply been raised by 1.7%, but for the 11 resorts, the prices has come down. The major drop is calculated in Ibiza with a 14% reduction in the average price from £474 to £406 per person, while Costa del Sol is showing savings of around 13% and Corfu 11%.
Industry sources said that at this time of year, consumers are bombarded with advertisements as holiday companies aim to capture early bookers. For 2007 it seems there is genuine value to be had.
