The River Dargle flows over the Powerscourt waterfall, falling 109 metres. This is the highest waterfall in The British Isles. The waterfall is a favorite area for family picnics, with woodland walks and lots of space.
Three miles from the waterfall are the Powerscourt Gardens which are also open to visitors . Regarded as one of the most splendid houses and grounds in Europe, Powerscourt is grand in the traditional manner with sweeping terraces, antique sculptures and fountains, set in acres of rolling green grasslands. This beautiful cascading waterfall gets lots of visitors and is a must see.
