Enthralling Carbisdale Castle!

There are so many castles in the UK and Europe. Some people visit castles just for the sake of going and taking pictures for the sake of telling the world ‘yes I have been there’. But for few others, visit to castles is a wonderful opportunity to know about the past. One such castle that speaks lot about past is Carbisdale Castle. Said to be built between 1905 and 1917 for the Duchess of Sutherland-Mary Caroline Mitchell, the castle still stands in a commanding position overlooking the Kyle of Sutherland. Once you visit the castle, you’ll be really amazed to see that even after a century, the castle still lives and everything in it is still standing in its ordinary place just as how it was originally built. This is what u can say eternity. Carbisdale Castle is the enthralling place where you’ll find beautiful old place with statues magnificent paintings in the galleries, the old library and vast portraits on the wall. Pulling into the sweeping driveway, its turrets and many windows suggest a warren of corridors and ghostly rooms. Image Credit The Castle has a large art collection and a statue gallery that has one of the largest private collections of 19th-century Italian marble sculpture in Scotland. You can also stay at the castle for £15.50 per night. Set in an area of extensive natural beauty overlooking the river Kyle with many local woodland walks, the castle offers the wonderful view. The late afternoon sun winks through stained glass windows on to the wooden floors and the view from the castle is unbelievable. Exploring the grounds, getting lost in the maze of stairs and small walk around the castle are just a few of the activities that you can get up to here. They are all worth it! It’s a place you’ll never forget.
