Book lovers take a note, there’s a four acre indoor theme park celebrating the fiction of Victorian author Charles Dickens set to open to the public at the end of May. It is located in the port town of Chatham Maritime near Medway, where Dickens spent a portion of his childhood. The park has been constructed inside a huge modern aluminum airplane hangar. Step inside and you’ll see a recreation of 19th century archways, cobblestone streets, and sewer . You’ll be greeted by an variety of actors portraying Dickens characters. 4-D high definition show, a 19th century music hall performance, and a Dickensian Shopping Mall will be the other features of the park. The Dickens World ride attractions will include the Haunted House of Ebenezer Scrooge, Fagin’s Den of Thieves, and The Great Expectations themed boat ride based on the escape of Magwitch the convict. The classic stories of Charles Dickens are the inspiration behind the 125 million-dollar park, which promises all the sounds and smells of the 19th century. It is expected that the park will attract large number of visitors.
